The start of primary school is an important time for children and their families.  Children who make a positive start to school are most likely to feel:

  • Comfortable, relaxed and valued
  • Positive about themselves as learners, and
  • A sense of belonging to the school community.

At Orrvale, we create a 'sense of belonging' by taking the time to get to know each child and their family through our detailed transition program.

2026 Enrolment - Key Dates

  • Information Evening
    A parent information evening will be held for prospective 2027 parents on Wednesday 22nd April from 5.45 to 7pm
  • School Tours
    30-minute Group Tours will be conducted on Wednesday 1st April at 8am and 1pm.  An additional Group Tour will be held on Tuesday 28th April at 10am.
  • Transition Dates
    • Foundation Picnic:
      Friday 30th October 2026, 9:15am 
    • Foundation Classroom Visit:
      Thursday 12th  November 2026, 9:15am 
    • Italian, Art, STEM & PE Session:
      Monday 23rd November 2026, 9:15am
    • Statewide Transition:
      Tuesday 8th December 2026, 9.15am

Virtual Information Session and Tour

We look forward to the time when we can give families a tour through our school, but for now, please explore a range of information videos that we have developed for you to learn more about Orrvale Primary School. 

Orrvale Primary School zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au. This website hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

Enrolment packs including enrolment forms are available to collect from the school office.
